As a small boy, Mike DiNella proudly watched his father and grandfather work in the granite sheds of New England. At the time, as all of Quincy Massachusetts’ quarries were producing granite, the monument companies would be busy manufacturing beautiful markers and headstones with elaborate ornate designs.
Mike started in the industry as an apprentice, working in the stone sheds and learning the art of stone cutting. He was trained to sandblast and cut into stones designs such as deep cultivated roses and other carvings, from the best in the industry; eventually becoming a Master Granite Cutter.
Today Custom Monuments is a third generation family-owned business yielding quality craftsmanship and expertise.
Mike’s work can be seen in many cemeteries around New England today.
